Most people know redheads are pretty rare. You don’t tend to see that many of them around do you? We’re talking about natural hair colours here of course. In fact just 1% of the entire population of the planet has naturally red hair. We bet you thought it was a bit higher than that but it’s true.
One of the most intriguing facts about redheads though is that they’re a lot more common in Scotland. We’ve all seen the classic stereotype of white skinned, redheaded people with kilts on of course. But it seems as though this stereotype has something to back it up – at least in the hair department. An incredible 13% of the people in Scotland have red hair!
We assume this applies to people born in this part of the world as opposed to those who live there. Either way it’s a fascinating fact, wouldn’t you say?
