Causative factors can be put down to anything from hereditary, congenital, dietary, illness, stress, to sudden shock and trauma.
In most cases the hair loss starts off as a small patch which can go unnoticed by the individual and is often discovered when having a hair cut or by a friend or partner.
The immediate response is one of despair and horror, but, please don't!
'With regular treatments hair re-growth quickly followed. I now feel more confident, & thanks to Hairology, can face the world again.'

What can be done?
In most cases of Alopecia, the patch/es often regrow on their own accord and in their own time, providing it is not a serious/severe case, i.e. total head hair loss (Alopecia Totalis) or total loss of all body hair (Alopecia Universalis).
Often, patches start as a 1p/10p size patch that doesn't always get any bigger, however, it can be quite stubborn in wanting to regrow. Or a single patch starts, followed by other patches. If these patches are next to each other, then often when hair is lost between these two patches, they become a single larger patch, which can be quite scary. But, please remember these are really two patches that have joined together.
